LETTERS TO EARTH - A SERIES OF SEVEN ETCHINGS AND AQUATINTS BY EDDA RENOUF
Between 1990-1991 artist Edda Renouf created a series of seven etchings and aquatints entitled "Letters to Earth". Renouf creates with linear patterns and subtle color graduations to produce her minimalist canvases.
"Edda Renouf speaks of herself as a pantheist. "Letters to Earth" was directly inspired by a feeling for nature and by a need to give an ecological message. The drawn lines, which cover most of the paper, express with great freedom images which remind one of the sun, the sky, water and vegetation;"
Renouf`s work is included in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, among others.
Edda Renouf lives and works in Paris, France.
