Giovanna Torrico

giovanna torrico's work with sequins is the result of years of collecting and preserving materials, which she has translated into contemporary jewelry.suspended on steel wire and combined with a range of brass, steel and silver pieces, the sequins allow continuous movement while revealing their sculptural and aerial quality. these sequins, last cut in the 1930s, are a precious and disappearing resource. each collection is designed and handcrafted in her oakland, california studio.
