Giovanna Torrico
Giovanna Torrico's work with sequins is the result of years of collecting and preserving vintage materials, which she has translated into contemporary jewelry. Suspended on steel wire and combined with a range of brass, steel and silver pieces, the sequins allow continuous movement while revealing their sculptural and aerial quality. These sequins, last cut in the 1930s, are a precious and disappearing resource. Each collection is designed and handcrafted in her Oakland, California studio.
