Tara Locklear
Tara Locklear graduated from East Carolina University attaining her BFA in metal design. Material investigations coupled with perceived value surrounding wearable objects are driving forces in her work. Inspired by urban environments, her designs are comprised of industrial and re-purposed elements resulting in an interpretive visual dialog of interpretive costume jewelry. Tara's current work is composed of recycled broken skateboards. Her works are shown in galleries across the USA, including the Smithsonian and the public collection at the Racine Art Museum. Tara currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she works as a studio jewelry artist.
